Task has just received our first shipment of Jaunt, a brand new line from Ana Lerario-Geller.
Known for combining an intricate blend of hand-made details with casual and modern styles to create a romantic and edgy look with her Lerario Beatriz collection, the idea behind Jaunt is to extend her concept into a line of novelty knit tops. The collection is grounded by an interesting and subtle color palette and each piece is either embroidered, embellished with beading, or printed with a singular detail...the inspiration this season being birds.
Guided by a serene, organic aesthetic, Ana is drawn to a sometimes melancholic, often darkly romantic beauty, with her artistic influences being the everyday threads that constitute the fabric of the city, especially when, against this concrete backdrop, there is an unexpected burst of nature.

Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Ana moved to New York in 1998 to study at Parsons School of Design, and began her career at Marc Jacobs, where she was eventually appointed designer working directly with Marc on his main line. After four years working with Jacobs, Ana left to become head designer for TseSay under the creative direction of Richard Chai. In 2005 Ana struck out on her own to open Fiftytwo Showroom which represents a range of lines and to launch her own collection.
Fiftytwo Showroom is located in a huge and beautiful 5th floor loft in Tribeca and is one of my favorite spaces to visit. I took this shot because I was inspired by the so-simple-why-didn't-I-think-of-that lighting...the decor of the space is changed often and is always inspirational.
