Legend says, that during the colonization of the new world, in the remote lands of the Yucatan Peninsula, the Franciscan monks created heavenly perfumes from the lush abundance of flowers, tropical woods and exotic herbs...and that these essences were highly prized throughout the Great Spanish Empire.

Meanwhile...Nicolas Malleville, a contemporary perfumer with a passion for history, was so captivated by the ancient records of these exotic lost scents that he decided to embark forthwith to the Yucatan on his own trip of discovery with the hope of recovering the old formulas of the Franciscans.

Influenced by the simple way of living, and the skillful craftsmanship of the locals, Nicolas founded Coqui Coqui Perfumery, a small lab in the mystical and stately colonial town of Valladolid, one of the first colonial towns in the Americas.

Imagine a dive into a heavenly place, caressed by the fragrance of coconut, smoked tropical woods, tobacco leaf, orange blossom and vanilla orchid... where the charming art of the monks, that was thought lost to the mists of time, has been revived.
